As a dynamic, family-owned enterprise thriving for over two decades, Villa Kula has left an indelible mark on landscapes across Europe, the Middle East, New Zealand, and Australia.

Villa Kula's portfolio features the meticulous refurbishment and outfitting of globally acclaimed, award-winning new build super yachts, the transformation of numerous architectural residences across New Zealand and Australia, creating a regal haven in the form of a Qatari Royal Villa in Doha, and designing two exquisite resort pool sides at the celebrated Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa in Broome.

Most recently the team completed an 18^-month interior design project sourcing and customising luxury furniture for a Californian coastal-inspired oceanfront penthouse in Perth's elite Western Suburbs.

A near decade navigating luxury super yachts in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean led to merging their 20 years of expertise in hospitality and design. Fuelled by a passion for boutique hotels, restaurants, and home interiors, Villa Kula create purposeful, stunning designer spaces that seamlessly blend inspiration with functionality.

Having lived and worked in over 40 countries, Villa Kula's journey is a perpetual exploration of cultures and landscapes. Each bespoke project draws inspiration from every corner of the globe, reflecting their commitment to innovation and great design.

Karl and I began our journey together in the breathtaking Balearic Islands off eastern Spain working on board a luxury charter yacht.

We spent close to a decade on the super yacht circuit, enduring endless months in shipyards overseeing interior refits in Italy, France and Spain then finally finishing our tenure at sea in Monaco on board the epic 90m S/Y Athena, the largest private sailing yacht at the time, owned by US tech Billionaire Jim Clark.

We joined Athena in Holland when she was a mere shell and went on to win the prestigious Show Boats International Award in Monte Carlo for the best interior sailing yacht, the year we delivered her.

At the time of the Yacht’s launch in Monaco we were simultaneously responsible for producing 200 pages of styled interiors alongside the acclaimed National Geographic photographer Louie Psihoyos for the hard-cover coffee table book, Athena.

In 2001, we departed the luxury super yacht industry to embark on our own entrepreneurial journey, establishing Villa Kula.

We continue today to work in close collaboration with our residential and commercial clients, transforming their creative vision into tangible, beautifully styled spaces that authentically reflect their personal style or brand.

In 2023 we made the sea change from Perth to Dunsborough in the South West of Western Australia to feel more connected with the ocean. We recently purchased our own renovation project and feel super excited by the material and furniture options available to make this our 'forever home'. Being minutes from pristine surf beaches and nestled in 3200m2 of mature garden we are finding endless inspiration in our new surroundings.

We live for travel, quality time with our beloved dogs ('Lois and Finch'), and our work. Interior design projects and our curated online store embody our 'passion for life.’
